The History of Starz Fostering

Founded in 2019

In 2019 Starz Fostering was founded by Nicky Starenczak and Lisa Whiting as a Community Interest Company, not for profit Independent Fostering Agency.

Nicky was in foster care and residential care herself as a child. Nicky then worked for the National Association for Young People in Care (N.A.Y.P.I.C) and knew she wanted to become a Foster Carer herself. Nicky and her husband fostered for 21 years, providing a safe and loving home for 8 children, prior to Nicky and Lisa setting up Starz Fostering. 

Nicky is the Responsible Individual and a Director, Lisa is a Director and they were joined by our third Director Zoe Key in 2022. 

Starz is based in the Norfolk village of Emneth.  We cover Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Holland in Lincolnshire. Our dedicated family feel staff team are on hand to provide support 24 hours a day for our approved fostering households.
