Panel Member Vacancies

Starz Fostering have an exciting opportunity for people wishing to join their fostering panel. We currently have three vacancies; two for panel members and one for a Vice Chair (experience of sitting on a fostering or adoption panel needed for the Vice Chair role).

Applicant’s need to be over 21 years old with relevant experience in their personal circumstances, for example care experienced, foster carer or adopter or hold relevant professional experience in a childcare, health or education setting, ideally with experience of supporting children who are ‘looked after’.

We welcome applications from all individuals with relevant experience, but particularly encourage people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and applicants who are care experienced to apply.  

Panel meetings are held approximately three to four times a year; at our office in Emneth, Norfolk.

Panel members are independent from the agency; for successful applicants this role is as a self-employed contractor with the agency.

Training and induction will be facilitated for successful applicants. No prior experience of sitting as a panel member is needed to apply (other than for the Vice Chair role), but you must have relevant personal or professional experience.

The fee for the role is:

Panel Members – Meeting Fees

·       £80 ½ day (under 3 ½ hours meeting time)

·       £160 full day (over 3 ½ hours meeting time)

·       £20 per report Form F/Review (reading time)

·       Mileage 0.40 pence per mile

The Vice Chair would receive the panel member fee noted above, unless Chairing the panel meeting when they would receive the usual Panel Chair fee for that meeting.
